The Denise-Larocque-Duhamel Library is bilingual and offers books in both French and English. In addition to providing access to our collection of books and magazines, computers and free WiFi, membership provides access to a wealth of digital resources (books, magazines, newspapers, music, interlibrary loans, and much more), thanks to an agreement with the Réseau BIBLIO de la Montérégie. Rules and Regulations

    Please take into account there are specific operating rules in effect during the pandemic.

  • Residents and taxpayers of Stanbridge East may become members, at no cost, on the presentation of suitable identification.
  • All non-residents must pay an annual membership fee of $20.00.
  • A membership card will be isued to each person. Parents are responsible for their children. Replacement cost for a lost card is $2.00.
  • The membership card will be used for the borrowing and returning of all articles to the library.
  • Children under the age of five must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Subscribers, adults and children, can borrow a maximum number of 10 documents (including at most 5 periodicals and 1 DVD) at the same time.
  • The loan of these items is for a period of 3 weeks and can be renewed for a maximum of two other consecutive periods of 3 weeks.
  • Late returns will be charged a fee of $0.10 per book per day. This rate will be charged for each day the library is open.
  • The user is responsible for all articles borrowed in his/her name.
  • No food or drinks are allowed in the library.
  • Lost or damaged goods must be reimbursed to the library according to the reimbursement policy of the Réseau Biblio de la Montérégie.
